Our Christmas fair was held on Saturday 25th November. The Hall was decorated for Christmas & carols were playing. This was well attended by all villagers even though the weather was chilly. The Gin Bar served Mulled Wine & hot dogs outside whilst inside the volunteers served tea, coffee & homemade cakes. There were many stalls selling an array of Christmas goods & present ideas. The volunteers held a tombola and raffle with some super prizes on offer. All in all a good day out and much needed funds were raised for the upkeep of the Hall.
December 2023
The annual Christmas Carol Concert was held on Wednesday 6th December. All 3 Churches participated in this special event. Catforth School entertained us with carols & there were readings & poems by members of the Parish. This was a good introduction for Rev Ian Clarkson of Crown Lane Free Methodist Church. The Parish Council funded the provision of tea, coffee & mince pes at the end of the evening & a collection was held for the Royal British Legion raising £80.50.
January 2024
The Village Hall was used as a polling station on the 11th January for a referendum on the Neighbourhood Plan which was subsequently passed with a majority.
Forthcoming Events 2024
Our annual Easter Fair will be held on Saturday 30th March 12pm to 4pm. As usual there will be an Easter Egg hunt for the children which has always been a huge success. The Gin Bar & an Ice Cream booth have already booked their spaces. There will be many various stalls and the usual raffle, tombola & tea coffee & cakes. Please come along and share in the fun.
The Hall continues to be well used by our permanent hirers, The Dog Club, Karate, Pilates, Cubs & Scouts & Toddlers. We have many one off hires including children’s birthday parties, baby showers, christenings, diabetes meetings and group tutorials.
